Jesus told us to love our neighbor as ourself (Mark 12:31). As I have needed a hand up at times, I know there are many others with need.
Isaiah 58:10
10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.
I am thankful for my calling. It is never my goal to become lukewarm. Lukewarm people love others but they do not seek to love others as much as they love themselves.
Revelation 3:16
16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
Activism can include loving your neighbor & encouraging your neighbor to join you in the act.
Years ago, there was a moment that I realized that I had spent enough time on my knees and hiding behind excuses, and it had become time to act. That was the day I became an activist.
I meet people everyday with passion and talent and extra tunics and I wonder if they understand how good it will feel to share it. I believe that people are stronger when they are giving and yet they might not know where to give. By standing beside other organizations that give a hand up to those in need I hope that I am helping people find what they need, whether it is an answer to a deficiency or an answer as where their tunic can do the most good.
