GRADS is a program for pregnant students and young parents (both male and female) to learn practical parenting skills, stay in school through graduation, and prepare for employment after high school.
GRADS offers a place to bring children and be together, take classes with other teen parents, and take care of yourself and your baby.
GRADS is the first step to a healthy family life and career.
GRADS courses focus on knowledge and skills related to:
- Pregnancy: Labor and delivery/Postnatal care, Maternal and fetal development
- Parenting: Child Development/Childcare Adjustments to parenting, Newborn expectations, Child abuse and neglect
- Positive Self: Communications/Relationships, Practical problem-solving, Options and decisions
- Economic Independence: Career exploration/Employability, Job searches and applications, Economic Resources, Independent Housing, Childcare options.
