To: General Public

From: Living Ministries Power Group

Date: May 9, 2011

Place: The Electric Bean @ 946 Washington Way, Longview, Washington

Attendance: Summer Clemenson, Elizabeth Evans, Sarah Lindenthal, Linda Haarstad and Karen Gidderon

The meeting was started at 7:19 pm by President Summer Clemenson.

People came to the meeting to find out what Living Ministries would like to offer the community. The connections between people who have needs and those that can offer resources are very important. While there are numerous facilities available there are still people falling through the cracks. The homeless problem is unfortunately alive and well. If we can take a bartering approach to services, we can become more successful.

We learned that foster kids have no state assistance after the age of 18 and can sometimes slip between the cracks and become homeless. Valley Christian offers gas vouchers for those in need of gas for their cars. This is new information

We need a slate of officers for our next meeting. There is a possibility that both Sarah and Elizabeth will become officers. (Very Cool)

Our Cowlitz Black Bears fundraising event is coming up in July. We will have a chance to let the community know more about Living Ministries at the Cowlitz Black Bears baseball game. We will purchase 2 ticket booklets. Then we will sell those tickets and the proceeds will go to Living Ministries.

The June 18th fund raiser may be changed. This is the graduation date for R.A. Long and Mark Morris High Schools.  If date is changed it will be announced as soon as possible at livingministries.org and the Living Ministries Face Book Fan Page.

The meeting ended in prayer at 8:20pm.  The next Living Ministries Power Meeting will be Monday, June 06, 2011 at 7pm at The Electric Bean in Longview, Washington.

Respectfully Submitted,

Karen Gidderon
Vice President, Living Ministries
