The meeting was called to order by President Summer Clemenson at 7:10pm.
Old Business: Summer is acting as manager on Tuesdays from 7:30am-11:30am at the Daily Living Essentials Café. This is a ministry of Love Overwhelming. They are still in need of sleeping bags. Click Here for a Full List of Needs
New Business: John Hanna mentioned the fact that there are no clothes-washing facilities for the homeless. There are no showers available for them either. Living Ministries purchased deodorant and fruit juice for the Daily Living Essentials Café.
The Christmas Angel Telethon is a wonderful fund-raising event that will be held at the Longview Eagles on December 09th and 10th. There will be lots of local talented people performing to help raise money for the Salvation Army’s neighbors in need program. This program will endure a $20,000.00 deficit this year. This means the food items that The Salvation Army gives to families in need will be significantly cut this Christmas season. The Christmas Angel Telethon will offer the community to a chance to make sure these families have a wonderful Christmas Season. We are still looking for talented people to perform. Cascade Networks has been asked to offer a live stream via the internet for The Christmas Angel Telethon. They are working on making this work so that more people will be able to watch The Christmas Angel Telethon via there Macs and PC s!
By unanimous vote, it was agreed that Karen Gidderon should be host of the 24 hour telethon.
