Subject: Living Ministries Power Meeting

Location: Lifeworks 906 New York Street, Longview, Washington 98632

To:           All Interested parties

Attendance: Summer Clemenson, Linda Haarstad, John Coleman, John Hanna, Tom Stebbins, and Karen Gidderon

The meeting was called to order at 6:17pm by President Summer Clemenson. Tom Stebbins was asked to start the meeting off with a prayer. He complied.

John Coleman suggested we have a booth at the annual Go-Fourth celebration. He has experience with selling fireworks.  The Go-Fourth Celebration starts on Sunday with set-up on Saturday. It was suggested that the non-profit group, Love Overwhelming assist with this huge endeavor. This issue was tabled for this meeting and more info will be gleaned for the next Living Ministries Power Meeting.

Summer would love help with the Living Ministries data base. So far there are 75 groups on the data base.  All committee members are invited to assist her by adding members to the data base.

The committee decided to meet both the 2nd Wednesday and the fourth Wednesday of the month.  The 2nd Wednesday is an open meeting where the general public is invited to visit. Now the fourth Wednesday is a closed meeting inviting only  the committee members and those aspiring to become committee members. This action was motioned and seconded.

All committee members really enjoy the more than adequate room at Lifeworks. Summer will try to secure this room for both meetings each month.

Each committee member has received a copy of The Board Profile Worksheet/Application.  The purpose of this new feature is to begin the Board Development sector of the organization.

The St. Patty’s Day Fling is ready to rock! Everything is in place.

The Christmas Tree Angel Telethon will be from 10am Dec.08- 10am Dec.09.  There will be greater detail given to making sure all volunteers are eating and drinking nutritious treats throughout the 24 hours. Last year some committee members pushed themselves beyond healthy limits.  One of the goals for this year to not let that happen.

The By-laws will be changed and sent to each committee member for approval at the next meeting, which is a closed meeting on March 27, 2012.

Linda Haarstad would like to sponsor a Mother/Daughter Tea.  Linda will try to book her community room at Heron Point Mobile Home Park on 50th Avenue and Ocean Beach Highway in Longview for this awesome event.  The Tea will not only feature savory and spicy foods but an array of jewelry for everyone to purchase and enjoy. Tentative date is Sunday, April 29, 2012. The funds from the tea will be donated to Living Ministries.

We are expecting to receive food for the St. Patty’s Day Fling from the following venders : Grocery Outlet, Fred Meyer, Cash-N-Carry, and Safeway.

Prizes will be from Knotty Wares, The Pet Works, and Angel Wings Ministry.

We are expecting monetary gifts from: The Dog Zone, Farm Dog Bakery, Dahl-McVicker, Columbia Funeral Home, Cowlitz Animal Clinic, Ocean Beach Vet, Pet Co., Woods Logging, Highlander Cycling, The Spot, Waggin Tails,Wall Mart, Pet Works, Dollar Tree, Dollar Plus,Pro-Calibur, DJ’s and More.
