Attendance: Summer Clemenson, Karen Gidderon, Jamie Holloway, Hal Palmer, Linda Haarstad, Debra Lawson-Bean

The meeting was called to order by Executive Director, Summer Clemenson, at 6:10 PM.

Telethon Debrief:

Summer read Christmas Angel Telethon 2012 Recap. Amount raised 4,141 dollars.

Positives:

  • Direct help to homeless couple.
  • All the bands felt positive about the event.
  • The even ran smoother and everyone worked together.
  • We started the telethon only 30 minutes late instead of an hour late this year.
  • We had 1 camera from KLTV and one from Exclaim Media, LLC.
  • Food provided by Debra for the bands was a great blessing.
  • We had more volunteers and committee members to run the event.
  • The energy of the performers and volunteers was amazing, the angst factor was gone.
  • Karen’s outfit.
  • We made more than we did last year.
  • We were relational.
  • Linda factor.
  • We grew even closer.
  • Organized better.
  • Unity.

Negatives:

  • No direct stream of the camera
  • Things were forgotten.
  • Communication with KLTV was damaged.
  • Mistakes happened.
  • Not enough communication about The Salvation Army.
  • Timing was an issue – need better management.
  • Communication process issues with bands and each other.
  • Venue is restrictive.
  • Dress code, give up putting Karen in a dress.
  • Outside bell ringing was not successful because there is no traffic on 12th Ave at night.
  • Rally.org charges too much for services and did not bring in the donations and traffic we expected.

Ideas for next year:

  • Bake sale – to have start up funds.
  • Go back to previous time of 6 pm on Friday to 6 pm on Saturday.
  • Change of venue.
  • A new co-host: Hal Palmer possible choice.
  • Captain Dave’s question: Is it worth doing for the amount of money raised?
  • Time and effort vs. money raised.
  • Linda will talk to Danny Steeley about his camera for the next telethon.
  • Get more people for interviews, volunteer, donate.
  • Get organized on interviews much earlier.
  • Linda will take more responsibility.
  • Use PayPal account for donations.
  • Summer is still working on editing the footage. She will have ten one hour specials when it is done.

Next Christmas Telethon:

Planning meeting on May 13, 2013

The Bag Party:

Summer would like to have this be an annual event the first Saturday of the year to benefit organization that help homeless people.

Amount Collected $180.10. ($90.05 given to each, Love Overwhelming and Hearts for Homeless)

Fun time and positive energy!

Positives:

  • Love seeing the enthusiasm of musicians.
  • The spirit of love was there.
  • The entertainers brought donations in.
  • Love Overwhelming and Hearts For Homeless brought good energy.
  • The music was great!
  • No issues – safety.
  • Everyone worked together as a team – Summer, Karen, Dale, Debra & Tom were there.

Negatives:

  • It was cold.
  • Not a lot of people showed up
  • We should have had marketing and planning done before Christmas Angel Telethon.
  • Better planning needed.

Furry Fundraiser Tea Party

Event to take place Saturday February 23, 2012 at Myrtle’s Teahouse in Ridgefield, WA.

All donations go to Angel Wings Rescue.

Printing 100 fliers, will be done next week. We only have to sell tickets.

New Logo:

The data base is done. The layout is easy for people to use.

St Patty’s Day Fling:

This year the event will be private, just committee people and volunteers. Potluck. Linda will see if the community room is available at Heron Pointe.

Living Ministries Spring Tea

Flier is done

Capacity is 30

Date: Sunday April 21st

Time: 2PM

Printing 50 invitations total.

Tickets are $20 each or $35 for 2.

Event will take place at Heron Pointe Clubhouse.

Executive Officers:

Meeting time is changed to the third Wednesday of the month at Lifeworks building at 6PM.

Karen stepping up to be the President.

Jamie to step into Secretary Position.

Debra is interested in becoming the Vice president.

Summer is remaining in the Executive Director and Treasurer positions and stepping down as President.

This will be taking place by March.

Treasurer we truly need this, everyone be praying about this.

General:

Our next meeting is Wednesday February 20, 2013 at 6 pm. Same place.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 PM.
