The meeting was called to order by President Summer Clemenson at 6:00pm. John Hanna was asked to start our evening off with prayer. He complied. We went around the table looking for happy bucks and we collected $18.00!
A motion was made by Linda to accept the new By-laws. Karen seconded the motion and the vote was approved, the new By-Laws were passed.
We voted Dale Chamberlain as a new committee member. Yeah!
Summer wants four main events to act as fund raisers or community enhancers each year. A lively discussion ensued about the many different things we could do.
Some of the ideas for fundraising were: A Paint ball Tournament, Turkey Bowl, Hop-N-Shop, Basketball Tournament, Parents Day Out, Poker Tournament, Donkey Baseball, Fishing Derby and Golf Tournament.
This issue will be revisited next meeting, where Summer will present the committee with a sample of a letterhead for Living Ministries with each event on top of the letterhead.
Linda would like to host a Mother-Daughter Tea at the community building near her home. We are happy to help where we can.
John Coleman spoke about a GoFourth fundraiser.
- Fireworks Booth
- Concession Stand
- Information Area
It was decided our team wasn’t big enough for a Fireworks Booth this year. We tabled discussion on a Concession Stand or Information Area until our next meeting.
Linda and Summer invited anyone that wanted to try to sell tickets fotr St. Patty’s Fling in front of Wal-Mart to join them the next day. Everyone was busy.
Dale and Tom were going to be at the fairgrounds on March 17th at 8:45 am to pick up sound equipment for The Fling.
After the meeting it was brought to Summer’s attention by Dale, John C. Debra, and Karen that meetings are too long. Summer agreed to consider a new layout.
Respectfully Submitted,
Karen Gidderon
