Old Business:  The St. Patty’s Day Fling Debriefing. On March 17th, 2012 Living Ministries combined forces with The Dino Doozer Foundation and hosted the first Annual St. Patty’s Day Fling, a family event to celebrate Irish Heritage.  Summer asked the committee to give her two things that were great about the event, one thing that posed a problem and one suggestion for next year’s event. Here’s what we gathered.

Among the things people loved were: Linda’s ability to organize evening activities, everyone’s kindness in working together throughout the entire day. The Karokee was great. The wide screen TVs were a hit.  Kid’s interaction. Everyone enjoyed the traditional Irish Dinner.  The committee acted as a power group featuring teamwork, and willingness to jump in wherever needed. The Pet Parade was exciting.  The Cricket Class was a big hit with the kids! Connie Wallace, Jim Blair, Ferell Harris, and Keith Day produced an evening of Irish Fling Music that was simply unforgettable.

Among the potential problems list were: Not enough sponsors for the event. Insurance needs to be discovered.  Not enough response from the public.  Some people had no idea where the AWPPW Hall was located.

Among the suggestions for next year:  Advertise earlier about the upcoming event.  Try to encourage the Daily News to write a story about the event.  Make sure the event doesn’t conflict with another event. Have event on another day other than St. Patty’s Day.  Produce a carnival with a variety of things to do.  Have sound equipment that answers all of our needs for the entire day.  Keep the big screen TVs running for the entire event.  Have a coffee stand for most of the event.  More adult oriented events. Have the ability to adopt animals. Shorten the time intervals between activities.

New Business:  New date for next year’s St. Patty’s Day Fling is March 09, 2012, This is a tentative date until the May 23th Living Ministries Meeting. Then we will vote this date or another in.

Living Ministries will have a presence at The Go-Fourth Celebration. Tom Stebbins will check into having a dunk tank at this event.  We tabled this issue until our next meeting where we will vote on this issue and determine exactly what we will do at this event.

Linda is working on sponsoring a Ladies Tea to benefit Living Ministries on April 26th 2012 at the Community room at Heron Point on 50th Avenue and Ocean Beach Highway.  This event will start at 3 pm and is an invitation only event.  Invitation have been sent to several people.

The meeting was adjourned by Summer Clemenson at 7:00pm

Next meeting is scheduled for April 11, 2012 at 7pm at Lifeworks 906 New York Street, Longview,Washington 98632

Respectfully Submitted,
