The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM by Karen Gidderon.
There was $14 dollars made in happy bucks.
Our President Karen brought up coordinated entry. The definition of coordinated entry is when all organizations meet up to help a homeless individual with all the information they need to get help. They will be a meeting on June 13th CWCOG, anyone is invited to give their input in how this process should be facilitated.
Summer brought up several trainings that are available for our community including one she is doing tomorrow with Karen that is a case management class. She is taking a lot of notes which will be available on the Living Ministries Private Committee Member Facebook group and our website.
On June 4th, Lower Columbia CAP is offering Trauma training so that people will know how to motivate and help those who have been abused or traumatized in any way.
June 6th and 7th SOAR training will be happening. Debra Lawson-Bean, Summer Clemenson, Karen Gideron, and Jamie Holloway will be attending.
Summer brought up applying for charity grants to help us with funds to help us doing what Living Ministries does best helping our Affiliated Ministries: Hearts for Homeless and Angel Wings Rescue Animal Shelter and other great charities in our community so we can build relationships.
Our madam President Karen debriefed us on how the Living Ministries Spring Tea was a success and what we all could do to make it better. We voted that there will not be a fall tea this year. One of the positives mentioned was that everyone worked hard as a team to make the tea a success and one of the things that failed the amount of food that was presented at the tea. Linda and Debra will now co-chair of the committee for the tea so we can have a successful one next spring. It was emphasized many times that we have to work together as a team to make this tea a success next year.
John brought up having an event that is just for the guys.
Summer gave the financial affairs of Living Ministries.
246.74 was made at the tea.
Their have been $194 in deposits made that go towards Angel Wings Rescue. And $200 in deposits were made into Living Ministries account. We bought new business cards and fliers for Angel Wings Rescue and we sent Summer off to the Ending Homelessness Conference in Tacoma.
Debra brought up having a dog wash event on June 22nd from 10 AM until 2PM half of the proceeds will go to Angel Wings and the other half would go to Living Ministries. There is not a location for the event. Summer mentioned possibly having it at The Dog Zone, so Debra will be calling to see if that can be done.
Debra is still in need of a screen door for her cat room at her Angel Wings property for proper ventilation for her rescues. Linda suggested she or Linda talking to the Builders Discount store to see what they will be willing to do to help her.
Linda made a motion to not do the Go Fourth Festival this year. It passed. We will not be representing Living Ministries at the lake for Go Fourth Festival this year.
Summer brought up that we need to work on our bylaws again and we need a committee to do this. Jamie made a motion to form a committee and it was passed. Summer, Karen, and Jamie are on this committee and will be working on the bylaws in time for our next Power meeting on June 16th.
We will be having a potluck on July 17th and Debra is the head of the food committee for this project. We are to invite people to come to this meeting so we can recruit and introduce ourselves and our mission to them.
There was talk about turning the tea committee into the fundraiser committee and having Linda and Debra be the head of this. A motion was made by Jamie Holloway and we voted for dissolving the current fundraising committee and having the Tea Committee take over fundraising.
