Living Ministries Power Meeting

Summer is taking notes in Jamie Holloway’s place. Jamie is under the weather and doesn’t have transportation from Vancouver. Lynn Brown is having a rheumatoid arthritis flare up and can’t walk or drive. The Beermans were not able to be here.
The meeting was called to order by President, Karen G Clemenson at 6:31 pm.
Peggy runs God’s Covenant Disciples – Creates bible studies and salvation cards, makes quilts for Headstart, the hospital and Caring Pregnancy Center, wants to start two blogs: Points to Ponder and Believing is not enough
Bible Studies are Reader plays: The bible is in a play format
Cruise for the Cure
Car show to benefit New Hope Cancer Recovery. We were going to be a vendor but we could not find the tent so we did not go as Living Ministries. The $100 we paid to be there became a donation.
Kim didn’t run the event so it was very different. Summer wasn’t sure we should be there, but God said that we were supposed there to give away water next year.
We heard today that Kim Walters, of New Hope Cancer Recovery fell and we are not sure how she is doing.
We should pray for this event for next year…and get the tent cover from Lynn.
This is our 4th annual drive for Help Food Warehouse. There are 6 places that people can donate financially. People can also donate online.
This is the first year that we would prefer to get money to give to Help Food Warehouse.
Peggy suggested that we contact WalMart to see if they will donate.
Survival Drive is in the month of October. In the past we have collected sleeping bags, socks, backpacks, bottled water and other items needed to survive outside.
Summer doesn’t want to do it this year because Hearts For Homeless is taking a break and we have gone through a lot of changes. She is afraid we don’t have enough people do to this.
Karen wants to have it be a sock drive and give to Love Overwhelming and Hearts For Homeless if they begin helping people again. Forever Fit Gym is already excited about this.
Peggy spoke with a church to be put on the budget for LO and she suggested we do that for Hearts For Homeless.
We had a good time last year. It is a Christmas Party basically.
Peggy suggested that we rethink this event. Have it at place that has alcohol. Charge something at the door….like an unwrapped toy.
Summer thinks we should do something smaller.
Meets Saturday at Victoria Freeman Park at 10 am. Exodus Church helps along with several volunteers.
Church of the Nazerene may be able to help.
Living Ministries did set up a savings account for this program to buy fresh fruit and other needed items.
Canz 4 Toyz Fundraiser
We are going to table this.
Peggy suggested that we put out press releases about Living Ministries and Affiliates.
